Complex City / Inktober 2026 – MINIATURE

“It was Captain Valdan’s obsession, you know? The gunship project, and I can’t blame him, really. He helped with its development; he and I, we were a team. However, he was the only one getting all the credit”. Complex City extract.

Thumbnail Sketch

MINIATURE is this time’s prompt word. Coming up with the concept of the prompt words is probably the most challenging part of Inktober, but at the same time, the most fun and satisfying. As you know, I had to match the prompt words with any scene from my original story. The basic composition was simple, the character had to be looking at the miniature closely.

Middle Sketch

For the middle sketch, I had to do it twice. The face on the first attempt is a human face that haunts me since many years ago, when I struggled a lot on actually completing drawings. When it came to humans all I could do was this generic face with these big eyes that were not near manga, nor American comic sytle.

The real Middle SKetch fixed this face problems, however, he turned out looking a bit older than the intended character’s age.

Pencil Sketch

This is the final blue pencil sketch, just before inking.
